Ken Forrester Chenin Blanc 2007
It is amazing who you meet online and I am not even a teenager. I don’t think he is trying to groom me, but my cyber-mate, Peter May, is something of an expert in the wines of South Africa. He recommended that I drink more Chenin Blanc, and suggested Ken Forrester would take me into the woods and chop me down to size.
So I grabbed a bottle from Majestic (£7.99, or £6.39 for two or more bottles). It is also available from Waitrose at £6.64 and other retailers at some price or other.
Although kind of peachy in flavour, it has the citrussy zing of a decent Sauvignon Blanc combined with the refined buttery taste of a decent white Burgundy. Excellent with fresh Brie and a truly superb wine for the price.
It is pretty strong at 14% alcohol and the price is in the range that might make it attractive to tramps in the square mile. Suited only to the poshest of park benches, though. Hope that is not where you drink it, Peter? 🙂

Not me 🙂
While this one is still in mind, you may want to go to the top end and get Forrester’s FMC Chenin from bigger Waitroses. Costs around £17
